a lot trickier than one might think.......

This small tortoiseshell butterfly was sunning itself on our kitchen window shelf this afternoon. Our buddhlia, in the bed near the kitchen is butterfly 'grand central' at the moment and we have been blessed with lots of these delightful creatures in the garden.

They are rather scarier looking when you get up close. It is very difficult to get enough depth of field to get all the butterfly in focus and wildlife photographers will probably criticise these attempts. However, I am persisting at this as I am determined to get the 'killer' shot!
