a walk along my lane

29th March 2011
Spring has sprung! So today I took a few macro shots of new growth along the lane on which we live.

This photograph is a revelation for me as this plant is a dreaded enemy in our garden - but isn't it (the humble dandelion) really beautiful?

Next up, the secret world of mosses:

I believe this is the flower of the Grey Willow (Salix Cinerea)commonly known as 'pussy willow'

The Lesser Celandine: - the lane was full of celandines just glowing in the sunshine. In fact a celandine has seeded itself in my garden near our composter and I am very happy to leave it there as I think it is lovely.

Photo comment By Monica Flanagan: You could hardly have done much walking if you were busy taking these photographs! These are really nice. I love dandelions too. That is NOT the pussy willow it's the other one. How helpful I am! Those are catkins, aren't they?
