When in Nagpur, Maharashtra we visited an ashram established by Ghandi in 1936. It was a magical place. It is used as a College of rural medical science, and as a memorial to the great man. This is the hut he lived in. The tree was planted by Ghandi in the year the ashram was established.

These are students of the College during their lunch break - seemingly the goal is to train students to be doctors in primary health clinics in rural areas. They are required to adopt the Ghandian ethos of non-violence, truth and love. Students wear khadi cloth; alcohol, tobacco and non-vegetarian food are forbidden.
