Nice or done to death?

28th January 2012
There is a fashion at the moment in landscape photography for seascapes which are shot at dusk and the technique calls for strong foreground interest, milky seas and soft pastel colours.
To some these are nice and to others they have been replicated to point where they are no longer of interest.

Yesterday a photo buddy and I headed out beyond Louisburg to a beautiful beach I had not been on before. I wanted to practice this technique and these are 3 results. It was a bit heart-in-the-mouth stuff at times as my tripod was often surrounded by water as I beat a hasty retreat up the beach to evade the in-coming time. It was great fun. The island in the background is Inishturk.
